Traditionally, people ate brown rice. However, in the more recent past, white rice came to be the preferred choice for status and taste. Nowadays, habits are changing again, with more people choosing brown rice, especially organic brown rice, for its power-packed nutrition, digestion-aiding fibre and environment-friendly production. Along the way, people are also starting to enjoy the greater flavour that brown rice offers. Learn from an expert the secrets of brown rice: how it is grown, its many benefits, the many delicious ways to prepare it and why organic is the best.

The speaker, Mr Hou Guan Heng is a grower, importer and distributor of organic brown rice. Mr Hou is also a long-time participant in local organic, environmental and Corporate Social Responsibility movements. He is a member of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements, the Singapore Manufacturers' Federation and the Association for Small and Medium Enterprises.
